|AARP Tax-Aide free tax service
Where: Carl & Mary Welhausen Library
810 Front St., Yoakum
Dates: Thursdays from February 5, 2015 through April 9, 2015
Time: 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM
The AARP Tax Aide Services does not discriminate against any age or income level,
however there are some areas that the employees are not trained in, and will be unable to
process returns that include issues, such as business, farming, rental properties, and more
complicated financial situations. We do see clients who have small self-employed
businesses, students, retired, and also those who need to file returns for previous years.
Now that the Affordable Care Act is addressed this year, those that are receiving the forms
concerning that will need to bring those with them as well as their picture ID, Social Security
cards for all dependents, and all the pertinent financial papers. The group will prepare all of
the taxes on-line and e-file the returns for the clients.
In Victoria, the group is based in the Senior Citizen Center at 603 E. Murray St., on Mondays
and Fridays during the tax season from 8:00 am – 2:30 pm. Feb. 2nd – April 12th.
Also in Victoria, the VITA Crossroads group (also trained and sponsored by the IRS) is open
at 4007 Halsey St., on Thursdays 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm and Saturdays 9:00 am – 12:00 pm.
