Grass, Weeds, Brush, Shrubbery:
High grass (above 12 inches), weeds (above 12 inches), and out of control shrubbery or trees (under 7 ft high & over 3 inches in diameter
that are NOT cared for) are considered fire hazards and decrease property value. The city has ordinances which prohibit such nuisances
and failure to comply is a Class C Misdemeanor.
It shall be unlawful for any owner of any lot or parcel of land or portion thereof, occupied or unoccupied, improved or unimproved, to
permit weeds or grass to grow to a height greater than twelve (12) inches upon premises; and to allow weeds, grass and trash to create a
hazardous or unsafe condition that may interfere with passage on sidewalks, walkways, streets or public right-of-ways adjacent to the
property.

Definitions: Junk (all worn-out, worthless, and discarded matter); Debris (dirt, concrete, rocks, brick or other building materials not being
used for on-site improvements pursuant to a duly issued building permit); Objectionable, unsightly or unsanitary matter (organic or mineral
matter or any composition or residue thereof); Rubbish (garbage, trash and other discarded articles and materials); and Trash (worthless or
useless small thing other than garbage, debris, brush, yard waste).
It shall be unlawful for any owner of any lot or parcel of land or portion thereof, occupied or unoccupied, improved or unimproved, to
permit any junk, trash, debris, rubbish, or unused appliances to accumulate or be present upon any such lot or parcel of land; and to permit
the storage of any such appliance.
Junked or Abandoned Motor Vehicles:
Failure to comply with the City Ordinances and other applicable laws and regulations may result in a fine, removal of vehicle, and/or a lien
placed against the property.
It shall be unlawful for any person to park, store or leave or to permit the parking, storing or leaving of any licensed motor vehicle of any
kind, or parts thereof, which is in a wrecked, junked or partially dismantled, inoperative, abandoned or discarded condition, in any place
where it is visible from a public place or public right-of-way, within the city limits for a period of time in excess of ten (10) days. Such
vehicle or parts thereof can be completely enclosed within a building or storage area in connection with a used car or junk area, lawfully
established pursuant to the zoning regulations of the City, and when not in violation of any other provision of this Code or other ordinance
of the City, or when the motor vehicle is retained by the owner for antique purposes, or when the vehicle is a special interest vehicle and
which is not a junked vehicle within the meaning of the Texas Litter Abatement Act.
Land within the property lines and all areas of public right-of-way adjacent to and extending beyond the property line:
To the curb line of adjacent streets, where a curb line has been established; or Where curb line is not established, to pavement edge, or where pavement is not established, to the active road bed; and To the center of adjacent alleys.
